Cove Coffee is owned and operated by the Boucher Family. Originally from Lake Oswego, OR Nate and Sarah moved to Point Arena for the coastline, weather and amazing community nearly a decade ago! Sarah worked at the coffee shop and Nate was a commercial fisherman until the previous owner made them an offer they couldn’t refuse. They continue on as Partners 10 years later. Married in June of 2010 on the OZ Farm in Manchester. It wasn’t long before they had a bun in the oven and in late June of 2013 a third member was added to the family and daughter Talula Lee Boucher was born.
Raising a little one in a family business environment has been rewarding. Seeing Talula get to know her local customers and have the extended community involvement has been priceless. We take great pride in the interaction we get with the communities of Manchester, Point Arena and Gualala. Serving good, quality ingredients and making everything to order (no pre-made sandwiches) keeps locals coming back for more. We grow our own tomatoes in the season making for a special treat come late summer and fall. Lettuce, Onions, Tomatoes, Sprouts and Avocados are all certified organic all the time, with the rare exception of home grown lettuce (it’s organic but not certified). Local Organic Eggs are used on our sandwiches when the chickens are producing! We serve organic berries in our smoothies too. All ingredients are sliced to order no pre-cut soggy tomatoes or onions. We are proud to serve Little Green Bean coffee which is Certified Organic Fair Trade and locally roasted right here in town! Nova Rosti, another Mom & Pop establishment, provides our delicious Organic Fair Trade Espresso. We use organic dairy products for our drinks too.
We also carry a great deal of stock that has been requested by customers for use in the cove or just things they couldn’t find in Point Arena. We have sweatshirts, hats and t-shirts with Cove Coffee branding on them including a fleece lined hoody that is a local favorite in the winter rain or summer fog! Dakine hats, backpacks, wallets and shirts are on offer. You can find travel cups of various sizes and Kevin Hofer’s locally made ceramic mugs that a always unique and coveted. Locally hand crafted metal, feather and abalone jewelry are a great gift or indulgence that help support local artisans. One of our employees makes her own Dig Herbal lip balms and salve infused with love that are hard to keep on the shelf!
The bonus is this coffee house has a retail side to boot. Fishing poles for purchase or rent, abalone gauges and bars, lures, line, flashers, terminal tackle, reels and BAIT…more for boats too. Surf accessories: wetsuits from excel (make an order limited stock in shop), surfboards, leashes, booties, gloves, fins (molded and carbon/fiberglass models). Custom Surfboards from Christensen Surfboards (make an order in the shop).
